About Us:

The Town Clerk’s Office is a public service office that performs a wide variety of department functions and citizen services.  The main objective of this Office is to provide prompt and courteous service to the residents of Damariscotta.

The Office of the Town Clerk is the official Record Keeper for the Town of Damariscotta.  We issue, record, ensure the safekeeping and preservation of Town Ordinances, Board of Selectmen Minutes, Vital Records (Birth, Marriage & Death), Marriage Licenses and other official documents.

The Clerk's Office issues various state and local licenses and permits, which include Business/Vending Permits, Entertainment Licenses, Hunting & Fishing Licenses, and Dog Licenses.

We are responsible for coordinating and conducting all elections, maintaining current and accurate voter records, and voter registration.  In addition, we also process all Bureau of Motor Vehicle registrations, and boat registrations for Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
