Comprehensive Plan Committee

What kind of place should Damariscotta be in the future? What are our best features, those that should be protected or should be made even better? What changes does the community anticipate, and what should we do about them?

The Comprehensive Plan Committee is an ad-hoc committee of citizen volunteers appointed by the Selectboard to guide the two-year long Comprehensive Plan Update process. The last Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2014, and much has changed since then! The ultimate goal of the updated plan will be to provide a new, shared vision for the community and produce a record memorializing the decisions made and actions committed to during the planning process.

Please visit the Comprehensive Plan site for more resources, meeting/workshop minutes, and survey results here.

The Final Draft of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan is now available for review.  A Special Town Meeting will be held on December 10th, at the Great Salt Bay School, where there will be a vote on the adoption of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan.
