Driver/Laborer

Looking for a job that gets you outdoors and performing meaningful work near and along the Damariscotta River?  Do you want a job that provides an array of tasks rather than something monotonous?  Our Highway Department is searching for someone that is motivated to maintain our transportation infrastructure and town properties year-round.  The Town offers a competitive pay and benefits package based on qualifications and experience.

Our current work schedule is Monday thru Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, subject to change with the seasons.  The successful candidate must be available for additional hours during wintertime and storm operations, possess a minimum of a Class B Maine Driver’s License, and must pass a pre-employment physical.

The Town of Damariscotta seeks competitive proposals for a complete revaluation (Project) of all taxable and tax- exempt real and personal property within the Town of Damariscotta, Maine (Town) effective no later than April 1, 2028 (The effective date). Miles St Road Reconstruction Project (Phase II)
The Town of Damariscotta (Town) is seeking proposals from contractors to complete a road reconstruction project. 

The project includes the reconstruction of ±250’ of Miles Street, including full-depth recycling, a new asphalt sidewalk with granite curbing, 12” water main replacement, grading, paving, drainage improvements, and other project-specific requirements. The proposed project dates are as follows:

  • RFI Due Date: February 21, 2025, by 2:00
  • Bids Due: February 27, 2025, 2:00 PM at Town Office – Thursday
  • Anticipated Award: March 5, 2025
  • Preferred Construction Start Date: Spring 2025
  • Project Completion Deadline: June 30, 2025*             
  • Project Duration Following Commencement of Construction: 10 Weeks

*Contractor May Propose an Alternate 2025 Completion Date
